Humphrey Hodgson

Humphrey Hodgson qualified in medicine at Oxford and St Thomas' Hospital Medical School, and was Professor of Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Royal Postgraduates Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, before moving to take the Sheila Sherlock Chair of Medicine at the Royal Free and UCL. His research interests have ranged from inflammatory bowel disease to liver cell biology. After his retirement he helped the University of Namibia establish its clinical medical school. He is trustee of various medical charities including PMRGCAuk which serves the interests of people with Polymyalgia and Giant Cell Arteritis.
