Eric Rothbarth

Eric is a Chartered Accountant who qualified with Price Waterhouse, specialising in tax. He subsequently worked at Virgin as a director for their many of their overseas companies. He joined JS Pathology where he was the finance director working with Dr Jean Shanks, the chairman. He floated the company onto the London Stock Exchange and then was instrumental in its sale to Corning Life Sciences. He remained with Corning (later renamed as Covance) after Corning sold JS Pathology to Unilabs, again as the finance director for their European operations as a clinical research organisation. 

Recently Eric has been involved in mergers, acquisitions and flotations of a number of smaller entities. He was also a trustee of the Jean Shanks Will Trust, which provided the majority of the funds for the Foundation. 

He is Chairman of The Jean Shanks Foundation and has been a Trustee since 1989 when he was appointed by Dr Jean Shanks and has been involved with two other charities and now works as a management consultant.
